Mixed Martial Arts Grappler Requirements

 

Beginner

The Beginner has little or no MMA experience.  This program is designed for students with 6 months or less of experience.   This program consists of building strength, stamina, speed, focus, and agility.  This program introduces the student to basic stances and footwork, striking drills, kicking drills, knee drills, combinations of striking/kicking drills and knee drills, basic clinching, takedown, and basic offensive and defensive grappling skills on the ground in the guard and half guard positions.  The student is required to spar/grapple for 3 minutes.

 

Grappler Level 1 (Jr. Level Student)

The Level 1 Grappler program is designed for students with 12 months or less of MMA experience.  This program is designed to start where the beginner level ends.  This program expands on the students free fighting skills and techniques, clinching, takedowns, throwing drills, the guard and half guard position.  At this level the student is introduced to the following:  mount position, side mount position, and top and bottom position, basic arm bars, leg bars, chokes, and submissions.  The student is required to grapple for 5 minutes or 1 round.

 

Grappler Level 2 (Intermediate Level Student)

The Level 2 Grappler program is designed for students with 18 months or less of MMA experience.  This program is designed to expand and introduce more advanced submissions utilizing chokes, arm bars, and leg bars.  The student is introduced to sweeping with the legs and hands.  At this level the student will be introduced to slip and transition drills for both offense and defense positions.  The student is required to grapple for 10 minutes or 2 rounds.

 

Grappler Level 3 (Advance Level Student)

The Level 3 Grappler program is designed for students with 24 months or less of MMA experience.  This program is designed to expand on all the previous knowledge and skills that the student has acquired at previous levels and introduces the student to more advance submissions and escapes.  The student is required to grapple for 15 minutes or 3 rounds.  The Level 3 Grappler serves as a sparring partner for the Level 4 Grappler.

 

Grappler Level 4 (Pit Bull)

The Level 4 Grappler program is designed for students with 30 months or less of MMA experience.  This program is designed to expand on all the previous knowledge and skills that the student has acquired at previous levels.  Emphasis is on strategy, technique, and application.  A student at this level is encouraged to compete at the amateur level and promote the sport and the camp/school where he or she trains.  The training for the student is designed to prepare the student for amateur level competition.  The Level 4 Grappler is a sparring partner for professional athletes.

 

Grappler Level 5 (Ring Master)

The Level 5 Grappler program is designed for students with 36 months or less of MMA experience.  This program is designed for the professional MMA athlete who has participated in 5 or more amateur or professional fights, promotes the camp/school where he or she trains, and contributes to the sport.  The training for this MMA athlete is designed to prepare him or her for professional level competitions/fights.  The Ring Master shares his knowledge and experience with all grappling levels and teaches the sport at all levels.

 

Classes on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30.
